Nashville SC climbs to fourth in the Western Conference with home result against the Portland Timbers

NASHVILLE — Nashville Soccer Club ascended to fourth place in the Western Conference with a 2-2 draw against the Portland Timbers at GEODIS Park. Sean Davis and Hany Mukhtar scored for Nashville in each half, with terrific assists from Randall Leal and Luke Haakenson, respectively. 

Top Tier In Western Conference: Nashville SC moves into sole possession of fourth place in the Western Conference (7W-5L-6D, 27 pts.) with 10 out of the final 16 matches at home. 

Sean Davis First In Five: Sean Davis scored his first goal as a member of Nashville SC. Davis’ last goal came almost five years ago on Aug. 12, 2017 in a 3-1 victory from his former club, New York Red Bulls, over Orlando City SC. 

Mukhtar The Most Valuable: Hany Mukhtar recorded his team-leading ninth goal of the season (tied for third most in MLS). The German attacker now has 10 goals and two assists in his last 10 matches across all competitions. 

Welcoming The New Kids: Nashville SC will visit 2022 MLS Expansion side Charlotte FC at 6 p.m. CT on Saturday, July 9 in a nationally televised match on FS1 and FOX Deportes.
