Metros defeat Cyclones

Maurat Dahlal and Jamel Mitchell scored two goals each to propel the Nashville Metros to a 5-1 victory over the Jacksonville Cyclones last night in Jacksonville, Fla.

Aytekin Ozcan socred the other goal for the Metros, who improved to 6-5 for the seaosn. Ozcan started the scoring just three minutes after the opening whistle and the Metros went on to score three goals in the first half.

“I’ve always said that we would know where are as a team after the first 10 to 11 games,” coach Greg Petersen said. “Tonight the team played as I had envisioned they would since I started assembling this group of players. Now it’s just a matter of building on what we’ve got and playing with continued consistency.”

The Metros will play at El Paso, Texas, Friday.
